Project Title: "Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics of vasopressin in infants with pulmonary hypertension"
Michelle Yang, MD, MSCI, is an assistant professor of Neonatology, department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed residency training in Pediatrics at the University of Vermont. She then completed her neonatology fellowship and obtained a Masters in Clinical Investigation at the University of Utah. Dr. Yang’s research focuses on merging neonatal pathophysiology and clinical pharmacology to design, conduct, and analyze clinical trials in this critically ill cohort, with a particular emphasis on cardiopulmonary disorders.
Project Title: "Determining and Modeling Sources of Pharmacokinetic Variability for Critically Ill Children Treated with Tri-Azole Antifungals"
Kathryn Pavia is an Assistant Professor in the divisions of pediatric critical care and clinical pharmacology at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. She earned her medical degree from the University of Utah school of medicine in 2017, then completed pediatric residency at Northwestern/Lurie Children's Hospital (2020), followed by fellowships in critical care (2023) and clinical pharmacology (2024) both at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Her research focuses on understanding the interactions between the physiologic derangements of critical illness and the pharmacokinetics of lifesaving medications, with a particular interest in medications used to treat infections.
