Children’s Mercy

At Children’s Mercy, the K12 program faculty are affiliated with the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics and the UMKC School of Pharmacy. Faculty are also affiliated with our other academic partner, University of Kansas. Children’s Mercy scholars will have access to a wealth of resources such as the Children’s Mercy Research Institute with major supports in the research areas of emphasis of Genomic Medicine, Precision Therapeutics, Health Services and Outcomes, Innovation in Healthcare Delivery and Emerging Infections. Scholars will also benefit from the Frontiers Clinical and Translational Science Institute and our partnership with the Kansas University Cancer Institute.

Duke

At Duke University, the K12 program faculty are affiliated with the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics at the Duke University School of Medicine. Duke scholars will have access to a wealth of resources at Duke University, including the National Cancer Institute (NCI)-funded Comprehensive Cancer Center, Duke Clinical Research Institute, Duke Global Health Institute, Duke Center for Genomics and Computational Biology, Pratt School of Engineering, Duke Institute for Brain Sciences, Duke Molecular Physiology Institute, Duke Clinical and Translational Medicine Institute, Duke Center for AIDS Research, and Duke Human Vaccine Institute.

University of California San Diego (UCSD)

At UCSD, the K12 program faculty are affiliated with the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Department of Pediatrics at the UCSD School of Medicine. UCSD scholars will have access to a wealth of resources at UCSD, including the Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute, UCSD Collaborative to Halt Antibiotic-Resistant Microbes, UCSD Center for Microbiome Innovation, UCSD Mother-Milk-Infant Center for Research Excellence, and UCSD Kawasaki Disease Research Center.

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

At UNC-Chapel Hill, the K12 program faculty are affiliated with the Department of Pediatrics in the UNC School of Medicine and the Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. At UNC-Chapel Hill, K12 scholars will have access to resources through the Children’s Research Institute, North Carolina Translational and Clinical Sciences (NC TraCS) Institute, and UNC Core Facilities (e.g., Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, and Data Analytics Core).

University of Utah

At the University of Utah, the K12 program faculty are affiliated with the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine and the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy. Utah scholars will have access to a wealth of resources at the University of Utah, including the Division of Clinical Pharmacology in the Department of Pediatrics, the Woman and Child Institute, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Research Network, the Huntsman Cancer Institute, the Center for Human Toxicology, the Nano Institute of Utah, and the Utah Data Coordinating Center that oversees multiple NIH-funded research networks.
